BroadCall Benefits

BroadCall is the combined Home Phone Line Rental, Voice Calls and Broadband Internet package exclusively available to members of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club (or UWDC4B - Click Here for the Business BroadCall tariff).
The residential service includes:
  • Up to 24Mbps broadband
  • Inclusive line rental (no more BT bills)
  • No minimum contract term
  • Free weekend global calls
  • Free connection
  • 40GB download limit with unlimited option available
BroadCall constitutes two services from the Utility Warehouse, and customers will therefore automatically benefit from free weekend calls to any fixed line number within the UK, and 10 top international destinations (landline calls only). Customers use their existing telephone(s) for making calls and benefit from guaranteed savings.
Taking additional services will enable the customer to benefit from free evening & weekend calls or free calls at any time to fixed numbers within the UK, and landline calls to the international destinations listed below.
The 10 international destinations offered free of charge as part of our "Free Global Calls" offer are
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hong Kong
  • Italy
  • Israel
  • Spain
  • USA

Please Note: Free Global Calls are offered to the mainland only. For instance, customers calling the Balearics or Canary Islands would be charged in full for the call.

Local Loop Unbundling (LLU)
Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) is the process where the incumbent operator (BT) makes its local network (the copper cables that run from customer's premises to the telephone exchange) available to other companies. Operators can then offer services (such as our BroadCall service). Currently around 80% of UK households can benefit from this technology and the number is growing all the time.
There are two different tariffs available on our BroadCall service, BroadCall Standard (£19.99) or BroadCall Max (£24.99), both of which are available exclusively to members of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club.
Customers and Distributors can find out if an exchange has been LLU enabled in the following ways:
  • telephoning the BroadCall checker on 0844 815 3585. Customers will be prompted to enter the telephone number they wish to check
  • online, at https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/comms/order/id/2
  • sending an SMS to the checker telephone number (07932 165000). This should be written ?LLU followed by a space, followed by the telephone number they wish to check with no space (eg. ?LLU 020xxxxxxxx)

BroadCall Tariffs and Tariff Changes
Current BroadCall prices are available from the Utility Warehouse website.
Customers can change between BroadCall tariffs.
Tariff changes are generally completed free of charge. If customers take different equipment when they change tariff, they must return the original equipment we supplied. For example, a customer moving from BroadCall to BroadCall Max may want a wireless router - they'll need to pay us £1.00 a month (for the wireless router) and return the fixed router.
Things to note:
  • there's a £10.00 disconnection fee on BroadCall
  • Economy Saver, Mobile Saver and More Talk Anytime are available on BroadCall
  • a fixed router is available free of charge on BroadCall. A wireless router is £1.00 (per month) on BroadCall Max, or £2.00 (per month) on BroadCall Standard
  • we'll supply one free filter. Additional filters are charged at £5.00 per filter.

Customers with Cable lines

BroadCall is not available for lines supplied and charged by a cable company (Virgin Media) or Kingston Communications (these customers can take Home Phone and/or broadband).

BroadCall Installations
We offer installations of BroadCall to our customers. Existing customers can contact our Customer Services team to arrange an installation. New customers should complete a new installation form (available from the Extranet - Downloads > Forms) in addition to our multi-services brochure.
Further information
  • LLU Installations are £24.00 (for a limited time only - normal charge is £69.00
  • It'll take around 10 days for BroadCall to be set up
  • If a customer takes an LLU line, they won't be able to get broadband from one of our competitors, or transfer their broadband to another supplier at a later date
  • new line installations are subject to a contract term of 12 or 24 months. For 24 month contracts, customers have the option of spreading the cost over 24 bills
  • all installations are subject to a minimum term contract. An Early Termination Fee of £3.00 per month (for every full month remaining on the contract) applies if the service cancels before completion of the contract.
  • when an LLU customer leaves us, their line will be disconnected.

Redcare

Unfortunately, for technical reasons, we are unable to supply BroadCall if there is a Redcare alarm system in use on the telephone line.
